My little brother Richard (He's 15) has arrived in the country, and will be arriving in Wellington shortly. He's starting school at Scots College next week. He's a successful cross country runner in the US at a national level, and I got him interested in ball when he came to HB in '04 and another visit to the US later that year.
Now the question is, does anyone think it worth trying to find an Ego (And air system plus hopper – Reason being I have one as do many other members of Hybrid)) for sale at a price that a newly arrived 15 year old is going to be remotely able to afford (With some help if required), or should I just try to track down any decent marker at a good price?
IMHO - Get him a decent 2nd hand marker. Any month now, stick will be prolly buy a new one anyway :p Hahahaha...
With anyone new to the sport, thats deffinitly what i'd suggest. The Tag guys got a few ion's in, they might be worth looking at.
I have an Ego, Tool/Parts kit, Reloader B, Pipe Kit, Empire pants, 72/45 air (reg is legal I think), Proflex, Sandana and some other misc gear with a bag to put it all in for $2100 :wink:
Thanks for the offer weet. $2100 is a little more that we'd want to spend when we're not sure how likely he is to commit long term. He's had the offer of a loan marker, so that will do in the short term.

As a former Rongotai old boy myself, I know that St. Pats boys sqeal like leetle girls...:) Mind you, Snots Porridge isn't much better...:P

Heh, Lincoln was forced to adopt that particular tactic after failing to win hearts and minds with his 'preservation of the union' bit... The abolition movement remained a fringe until lincoln and grant were scraping the bottom of the barrel for recruits in '63. They had to do something and believe me, it wasn't instantly popular!!
In as friendly a way as possible, it amuses me sometimes when countries rewrite their own history...
