View Full Version : Macroline
What is the standard size/pressure rating for macroline to go on a PMR?
I need to run down to Hydralink..
Standard nylon tube, pretty certain it's 1/4" (as sized on the OD) burst pressure is 1200psi and is usually 4 times WP. So that makes it 300psi WP which sounds right to me. More than enough. Retails at 2.22/m +GST.
Just got home and checked the line on my M6 and it actually says 625psi WP.
Even with std nylon tube should be fine. Only time I've seen a problem is when the tube is black and gets hot in the sun. Will burst then.

i cannot stress enough when getting macroline get nylon. i visited norgren a few weeks ago to get some macroline and they gave me this other polymer that wasnt nylon but it was rated to 800psi (it was thinner and softer) and i have an HP tank so i though it would be fine.
well long story short i was listening for leaks on my marker and it burst beside my face and now im partly tone deaf in my left ear. >_<
Good point! The nylon tube has a much thicker wall.
You still there Mike, can you still hear us?

What do you need Mike?.
Tube comes in Metric and imperial sizes 5mm, 6mm, 1/4inch, whatever.
The tube comes in many colors, but be sure and ask about pressure ratings, the white (clear) tube we use here has a thick wall and is rated to 800 psi, good for high presets.
Tonedeaf, yer well I see why, use soapy water when looking for leaks.
Pushfit fittings come in Metric as well as Imperial also, match the right tube to the fitting. Metric tube will go into a imperial fitting but not the other way round 1/4 = 6.35mm.
The fittings do wear out, so get some spares.

we use crimp single olive fittings on our co2 lines with nulon 2500 psi 1/4" tube to replace the braided tubes. never had one let go even when they get crimped over.
i think its meant to be grease tube or something like that. also comes in 10,000 psi double olive i think
if your still looking for some i can post you a bit
bsp fittings that will fit into npt socket no probs are $6 each not to sure about npt but i think they are around $15+ each
