Well - who will win? Should be an interesting event with so much at stake. Not only are the poster boys for professional paintball (XSV) heading for relegation (I can't believe that's it still happening), but there is an interesting tussel for the series win happening between Ironmen, Impact and Dynasty.

So the first poll is thus - who will win the event?

Got the wrap up for the pro grade day one if you want it guys.
In short you can get it from NPPL.Tv but for thoes who want to read on...

Pool A. In order.
Edmonton Impact 7-1
L.A Infamous 6-2
St. Louis Avalanche 5-3
Joy Division 4-4

Pool B. In order.
San Diego Dynasty 7-1
L.A Ironmen 6-2
New England Hurricanes 5-3
Sacramento XSV 4-4

These teams go through to Sunday.
Points of Note:
Miami Rage fighting to stay in Pro, lost the plot totaly. Needing to finish 3 - 4 places in front of Bad Company they never failed to get a 1-4-1 or 1-4-more in 7 games straight. In the end more of there players where pulled from games then thoes that where taged out. XSV fans are praying to night that Rich and his crew have a good day tomorrow. XSV has a chance of knocking Bad Company down to relegation should they finish BIG tomorrow.
The Portland Naughty Dogs and Philly All A's finished on equal points and avg. Phillys won the tie brake.

I'll get back to you guys soon as to the standings.

Ok roughly the points brake down like thus.

With only Avalanche and XSV the lower ranked teams making it to Sunday and getting a minimum of 11 points for finishing 8th. XSV is alive! At worst they will finish the year on 31 points 2 points ahead of Bad Company and claiming the last safe spot (16th) from relegation.
XSV could finish as good as 10th (fat chance that happening)
Avalanche could finish as high as 9th.
Teams facing semi pro are
Bad Company 29 points
LTZ 23 points
Rage 21 points

Bad Company might still have a life line if Joy follows through and quits the NPPL. Or they have to hand over some cash to buy a sponsors spot.

To win it all
Impact just need to finish no lower then 3rd if Dynasty wins then we have a tie. If Impact gets to the finals then they win the series.

Dynasty needs to beat out Impact by 6 points or 3 places.

Ironmen need to beat out Impact by 10 points or 5 places and Dynasty can not finish higher then them at this event. If they beat Impact by 4 places (and they kick some dragon ass) we have a tie.

Joy and Infamous can not win the series both being 21 and 22 points adrift. They could swap places depending on who ends higher.

Bad news for friends of Alex. Aftermath did not make it to Sunday! But Xfactor (160), Bush Wackers (161) and the A-team (165) did. Aftermath on 171 points will have to wait to see if they can get promoted for next year. If all 3 chasing teams make it to the semis or better then it's all over for Aftermath.

Yeah, I saw this. A bit disappointing but these things happen. Hope they make it to the Pro ranks.

More importantly XSV have avoided relegation by making the Top 8 at this event ... teams being relegated include Bad Company, LTZ & Rage :)

According to PBDojo:
Rage writes Doc Draper a blank check for his NPPL Pro spot and Doc accepts.

1st v 2nd play off = Dynasty & Avalanche
3rd v 4th play off = Hurricanes & Impact.

Impact need to take 3rd (assuming Dynasty win) to take the series title. If Dynasty come 2nd then it's a moot point - Impact win the series.

I could'nt believe my own math yesterday, but after seeing how dannefaerd has got the same numbers as I got down. and Hell has frozen over for another year I'm just going to go into the corner and cry now.

Dagnabit!

So is Rage still in and Raiders out? It would be good for them to focus on there NXL commitment. they had some good results from this and last year they just havent been putting it together back to back. and this also means that when Strange kicks there @$$ I'm going to be all the more happy.

Yep, it would seem that Rage have a Pro spot back.

Wow - so Joy have actually pulled? Was wondering if that was going to be a negiotating position with Shawn on improving ref'ing in the pro arena.

Not just the Pro games after watching the UKS KC vid.

Joy is leasing there spot for next year. There is still the option of taking it back should things improve possibly for 2009. They still got burned in Commanders Cup buy some BS ref calls but this was probably comming from a long time ago.
Joy are going to focus on the Mill League, while XSV is calling the Mill League quits, While Raiders after selling there spot to Rage are folding completley. As there not playing NXL next year either.

Now that is just to COOL. Joy is taking a brake from the NPPL but in the free time they have between the Millenium events the whole squad is going on a world tour to help promote the game. South America and South Africa have already been thrown up as possible stops. South Africa is probably going to happen. Max was recently over there conducting clinics and getting a look at the local wild life, he apparently loved it.

If the Joy World Tour stops across the ditch, I'm going!
Yay Joygazim! :D
