I think it is a loss - Rob has been huge for the sport over the years. Since talking to him I can respect and understand his decisions, but that doesn't change the fact it's a big hole in the game.

The news that the site had closed down really hit me like a ton of bricks.
It was a wealth of info and introduced me to many players and paintball in NZ as it is today.
My sympathies for Rob as it must have been a sad moment to pull the plug on a good site, even though it was spoilt by the slagfest that went on in it.
Just hope this site does not go the same way, a real lesson to those who spoilt the site with the bickering and slandering.
Thanx to Martin for setting this site up and we grow from strength to strength.

As long as people remain civil the board will remain as it is.
Its sad to see NZPB go, but personally, i think its a good idea. Rob's done lots for NZ regarding the internet scene etc, but the boards really degraded with a small amount of users causing problems.

The funny thing is, I think the point of things here is to be a little more tolerant, though obviously not putting up with being complete dicks. Problem with the bannination (Of which I think I am the only one to be banned on these forums to date!), it is creates the us/them problem that effects paintball so much at the moment. I'd really be surprised to see someone get banned. I'd expect them to simply be told to pull their head out of their arse...:)

ok I havent had much ot do with the paintball scene as I have only just tried to get into it (hopefully I can get more involved soon).
BUt they thing I think should of happened is that the one or two memebers on the NZPB website that were causing trouble should have just been banned or something along those lines. ALso unfortuantly some memebers thought the forum was abit to heavy handed in the moderation that is the nature of the internet and it has to really be respected.
Maybe what needs to happen is there be a private forum section for those who have either signed up to NZPBA (thereofre also creating an incentive to be a memeber) or who have contributed fincaiall in some way. SO therefore we can tell who are the real ballers and the pretenders on here.
With the pribvate forum this is where most sponsors deals and maja tournament details should be announced....
only a suggestion from a newbie so critisize till the cows come home I dont mind I belong to many forums.

I'm with B2 on this, I'd say something - but it would result in me getting more angry emails about my "comeuppance" :-P
At the end of the day, the WHOLE community needs to be less hostile and work together to make EVERYTHING work.
If they dont then Paintball as a sport with a National league or a national series will Never work.

Sometimes it is better and wiser to keep your shit to yourself for the sake of NOT pissing people off (something I'm working on)
Personally I think the whole old site drama needs to be put to bed, now is the time to look forward not backwards.
Like I'm looking forward to blasting people at Easter :twisted:

Sometimes some things are just meant to be..
What was tolerated on PBNZ was certain ppl trolling just to create and cause problems..
These same ppl didnt add anything to Pball or PBNZ, and yet it was accepted..
Yet ask one question that ruffled feathers ..BANG site gone History.
I know Rob did sterling work on the site and internet..Just sometimes things run thier course.
The future of Pball as I see it is in Crisis Mode in NZ.
Its going to be a collective effort to drag it up and onwards.
Eihter way Im on here and love it..nice room , cosy and warm.

A point to note......Isn't it interesting about how quickly players are finding out about this site and joining up!!!! Let the people decide. If someone wants to grab the old domain name (Thats all good) If people prefer to to use this as their main site instead (thats good also)
As for me Im ALL about keeping things simple......I like this site, its nice and fresh looking, So here I'll be staying.....Power to the Players :wink:

at the end of the day in order for our forum not to blow up all we have to do is get along it shouldnt be that hard
