Yup. As much as I hate second, it's still a good result. I've not been looking at paintball much since the last AXL round, so I don't even know what Menace are playing in. If it's a series (Which from the sound of it, it is), then it's still a good result for the rest of the series too...:)

but on a serious note watched the boys play on saturday and they were very impressive.......

We got through the prelims (18 games) pretty well and only dropped one game to Backlash (the team Jono was playing for).

Came up against Sydney Shock in the semi's (no quarters, no time) and beat them in two games. Sydney Swat were taken to three games by Furions but won the last to meet us in the final.

First game had a little controversy at the end with playing on but realistically Swat played well and deserved to win that one. The second game was not one I will look back on fondly to say the least. Adam Conolly was hit in the head which he wiped (while less than ten feet from the head ref who was watching us at the other end of the feild) then ran to the snake side 50 dorito, he was hit at least one more time on the run in, which he also wiped then engaged mid feild before finally being hit multiple times and deciding to leave the feild.

Little Neil did a run through on the bottom side of the feild, bunkered one player cold in the back, carried on and shot out another player who engaged him but missed then carried on to a third player who shot him out, he pulled off the feild and did not engage the third player who had hit him and it should have ended there with a successful move removing two key opposition players and opening up that flank. Unfortunatly the Swat captain had other idea's and called the refs to call a one for one penalty on Neil and reinstate the second player he shot out, which they obligingly did and ran past Gavin to pull Matt out of center feild.

Gav, seeing that Neil had made a run through moved to fill the gap only to find that the gap had been filled by the reinstated Swat player and was shot out. This effectively changed the game from us in a dominant position to being down to two players, Swat pushed the advantage home and it was all over.

Thats how it happened to the best of my knowledge based on what I saw on feild, what we have on tape and what I was told by multiple sideline witnesses, if this offends anyone I really don't care. I'm not saying that we are total angels out on the feild but that level of cheating in one game is just rediculous.

Anyway, enough of the negativity, only ends up sounding like sour grapes. The tournament was bloody good and despite the end I really enjoyed myself. The Aussies are a great bunch of guys and girls and I thoroughly recommend these tournaments to anyone thinking of going overseas for an event. Would be nice to see the home feild institute a few more experienced, neutral refs though. Especially when there are large cash prizes up for grabs.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say thanks all for your support. It is a four tournament series so second is not a bad start and hopefully we can bring back the bling in the next three events and take out the overall title.

Matt's got it. I'll try and get a copy of it for you. Sorry but the sound turns to shit about half way through the prelims when the camera got shot! :o Also it is only our games as we didn't have a lot of tape, however there was enough spare for a little bit of hot but cam :D
