Good stuff. After Saturdays games they were in 5th Pro - so not making the cut. Nice to see they stepped it up.

Did they have the ringins this time round?

I believe so. I understand they had a couple of little known players. Errr, Ryan Greenspan and Alex Savino. They play for some team called Dynasty or something like that.

Now that's funny.

Who else made the team this time around?

stick

I think it was Matt Story, Tower, Andy, Todd, Alex (from Perth), Ryan Greenspan and Alex Savino.

Haven't they stopped checking for bounce?

If they haven't been - they should be.

Otherwise people can adjust stuff on the field ...

TODDYbear

and the bounce thing is stupid, they dont bounce test... and you cant get penalized for bounce... is that worse than tourny lock?

Yes. With no lock you could adjust dwell and things like that ... which effects velocity ... and is dangerous.

That said I agree the bounce checks are stupid :)

TODDYbear

so why didnt they chrono me after the game? to see if i had changed the dwell... or anything.

Because if you can increase it on the field then you can decrease it on the field :)

Hence the whole "they're stupid" :) Either that or I can see how to stuff the system better than they can ...

I havent seen anything in the rules for being penalised for bounce....it only says they can pull your gun if the think it is in a mode......if its bouncing all they can do is gwt you to adjust it

TODDYbear

At the end of the day, the tourney lock should have been on, It does say it in the rules. The captains meeting was some kind of secret one that half the captains missed, and apparently a lot of things were said there about rules.

All players caught were very lucky not to be ejected. AND it's very lucky that all the guns on the teams that were caught were not tested.

Hostile Intentions guns were all on Tourney lock, as not being an action team, you need to cover every possible excuse to be given penalties.

Shame that it wasn't mentioned before the tourney, but I guess the refs wanted to make a few examples of people. Enter poor Toddy lol.

Totally agree with what you are saying and I used to personally tourney lock all our guns for the simple reason of not falling into the trap of being a non Action team......but I still think it was a bit rude seeing as it had never been checked in the last couple of years.....a simple warning before hand would have sufficed especially at the chrono

Everytime something went wrong they'd say "we said this was going to happen, at the captains meeting". I talked to one of the people that happened to be at the captains meeting and he told me that half of the 'new rules/newly enforced rules' werent covered at all.

At the end of the day it is a rule, we should all know the rules, and they have every right to use the rules to eject people. They are black and white.

Some forwarning to the teams would have been nice, it was funny that the only teams affected were action teams lol. Guess that shows some kind of non biased reffing, I like that :)

A team (infact menace) got a 6 game in the first round.... So it should have been expected, Toddy knows that he just fucked up (as we all do every now and then).

Like Jono says though you have to make sure you give no one an excuse to penalize you for anything its part of the sport.

Especially if they are Australian :)

It was hard because the guns "caught" were not bouncing, and were all SEMI ONLY boards. The only problem was they were not tourney locked, fair cop, but in the last 2 years i can't think of a single tourney this was looked at. They should have given a warning of some sort to all players, not just decide to do it all of a sudden.

Yes Todd screwed up, but I think I saw about 30 people fiddling with their guns after those Penalties. Why they didnt have a captains meeting on the saturday morning, like every other event, is beyond me.

why do do you need to tourney lock a gun that can only shoot semi-auto anyway???

Vijil
05-06-2008, 19:55
because the dwell and therefore the velocity could be changed.
