Stick, you could use an oil filter removing tool... Repco have them, dont get aone with a steel band, use a canvas band one... or put in a towel, or bike tyre tube in a vice... (this works fine but you have to be carefull....) Ive done this to heaps of regs, ive only ever scratched 1. Hope this helps.

Bunnings porirua have $20 rubber strap wrenchs in different sizes in the hand tool section which are identical to the ones on pbnation. I'm assuming you're trying to dis-assemble your hyper2 reg so 2 small ones would work. I could pick you up acouple if porirua is too far out of your way.
