View Full Version : Formal Apology

NEW Zealand paintball players are in an information limbo now, according
to Michael Earley, who said "Last nite Maddox threw all the toys out
of the cot and closed down the nzpaintball message board, and will
soon be closing down the site according to an email sent to all
members." So, for info, check out www.paintball.org.nz/community/

I'd like to officially say that this was a personal email from Myself to Dave Norman at APG on the night that the boards were closed down and was supposed to be private and confidential. I have since emailed him to inform him of the matter and asked that an official retraction be posted.

While true that the "toys were thrown out of the cot", it was completely inappropriate to have been published by APG like that, and I have asked that at my request a retraction be emailed and apology given. For obvious reasons the timing could not have been worse. I have spoken to Matt about the matter, and he understands the situation.

I'd also like to note that there is no official link between myself and this board, the mention of this board on that is purely because it was the only thing available to communicate with at the time.

With this in mind, and with considerable embarresment I'd like to tender my resignation from the NZPPA committee and am sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please feel free to post this on the other site.

I'm gonna take a break, I fucked up - and I don't want to bring the NZPPA or the new management of the nzpaintball board into disrepute.

I love paintball - its my life... but I must do what is right.

Personally I don't see an issue with what you have quoted.

My views are my own and do not reflect those of my team, employer or cat.

Mikey mikey mikey. I thought you would have known that there is no such thing as a "personal email". Never send anything by email that you would not have tatoo'd into your forehead for all to see.

Its much like posting in a forum. When you are not actually talking to someone, people can't pick up on body language or inflections of your voice that let you know how you mean something. Humerous sarcasm can be taken seriously, people read into comments things that were not intended.

If you want people to take you seriously you will have to put a lot more thought into what you keep inside your head or tell people in person and what you decide to commit to email or forums that anyone could see. If you keep burning bridges you are eventually going to find yourself in deep water.

I know you have a great deal of passion for the sport and are generally well intentioned but the beauty of emails and forums is that you get to write something down, sit back and read it a few times, think about how other people will view it, then decide weather you post it or not. If you want to get back onto PBNZ then please think about this carefully. If not then just keep on doing whatever you want.

If you think that's bad I've done 10x worse screw ups on stuff I've posted / emailed even in my short time on PGi, and there are pages of advertising and a magazine rest of the result if I post something with my name against it.

I think the only person you need to apologise to is Rob, not the rest of the pball world.

Call him up / email, eat humble pie and I'm sure he'll realise it wasn't for intended for publication, he might be mad and pissed, but should be able to see past it.

Dont do it Mikey, p.ball needs your commitment and this can be cleared up real simple like. Dont take that passion away from all of us, we need all we can get.

Gotta love it when quotes get taken out of context...

Look what happened to one of the Northland Libz when interviewed on more FM:
