View Full Version : [Wellington] Wellington games next year
As a few of you may know Ants stepping back from paintball a little bit, and as such I have taken the airball field off his hands.
How the field is used is up to you all,.
What format do you all want to play? 3man, 5man, one on one??? Every month, bi monthly so you can travel to palmy/whanganui etc??
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Shane
Hi Shane
More than willing to help out with this! Did you get the permit for use of the Grenada field as well?
My preference is to do 5man (I'm being a bit selfish here as I'm trying to bring our team up to div1 capability), but 3 is cool if that's what everyone/majority want.

havnt sorted out Granada yet, but it is on my list!! :) If you guys want to use it for practice just let me know. Kerry has my details
5man sounds good,
i think we should play every weekend to be honest, the more games the better,
Kerry
Ps Shane will need a payrise to play that often :)
Definitely be keen for anything local whether it be 3, 5 or 7. Monthly sounds good, but be sure to avoid the Aces High monthly (bimonthly?) gig for max attendance.
Thank god someones stepped up! I'm keen as for 5 man and as often as possible.

"Thank god someones stepped up"
suggestion, make the most of this opportunity, help out, dont wait to be asked, go ask shane what needs to be done, all the time, not just once, dont stand around talkin and watching others setup and clean up.

Excellent advice ANTS!!
I have a team of friends interested in firing off some paint on a regular basis. Currently using a mixture of rental gear and our own equipment. Will slowly replace the rentals with our own stuff when funds and interest allows.
Look forward to more infomation.
Looking good for interest, hope it all goes to plan,

I'm down for 3 man just 'cause it'll be easier to sort people into teams in the beginning then we can move on to 5man after we have greater numbers attending.
Bimonthly is no way near enough paintball. I even think monthly is pushing it. Fortnightly atleast and maybe weekly although I don't think people could afford weekly...
Is there any chance of getting together for ball some day before the new year?
I would be keen. I work retail so this time of year is super busy but would be good to get together and shoot some paint.
I would love to have ago before christmas, but due to prior commitments, and a severe lack of money I plan on kikking this off in the New year.
On another note if anyone knows of any alternate locations we could use suggestions.
ta Shane.
ps keep up with the ideas, all good so far!

5 Man is good, but numbers need to be there for that to work.
Maybe decide what game format on the day...?
So if theres enough you can run 5 man, if not then 3man for that day.
Yea, I agree. Format based on the turn out.

Yea actually looking at my bank balance, I might not be able to play 'till next year either unless I sell my little brothers bling on trade me...Or get money from somewhere.
Yea, decide on the day although I'm pretty certain that it'll be 3man the first time round =]
Yeah i think 3man to start build up some numbers and get a 5man going.
I think once it gets going and people turn up and put there effort, Shane will be able to have more games and soon more bunkers!!! all with my help aye shane :)

what about synchronising with the Palmy dates so they dont clash, theirs are bi monthly, so every other alternate month?
A couple of my players have pulled out for our speedball practice game this saturday. Anyone want to join us? We are pretty green and using mostly rental gear.
Let me know if your keen, we are playing at the Petone indoor field at 10:30am Saturday. We need 3-4 people to give us 4v4 or 5v5.
I'm keen. How long you playing for?
Thinking about an hour, could be longer or shorter depending on paint, cash and other bookings.
So, whats the go with Welly tourny scene?

Keen to get into the Welly paintball scene. Just brought an epiphany, looking to join someone's crew.
Unfortunately, the closest thing Wellington has to a paintball scene at the moment is Aces High monthly open day in Palmy.
There is a regular meeting at the Petone indoor field every second Wednesday. My friends have a very newbie like team with most of us packing Spyder MR1's or cheap trademe guns. We normally play as a team roughly every 3rd Saturday.

my team is keen.
just need dates etc
We need a venue? any ideas? and contacts etc? If we can get a venue we can get as many games as wanted etc, and i know a few teams keen for scrims....
Is TAG at pomare still running? That was a great site back in the day.
Yeah, it kinda is, the speed ball field is pretty much stuffed, netting is "gone", Im gonna contact Dannefaerd to see if we could use that field. Help him fix it up etc..

I think Marty is doing some work on this to get it back up to scratch.

Yeah - fair to say that it needs a lot of work. We're getting through it, but the airball field is basically farked. That is going to take a LOT of work.

So here's a thread dredge ...
What is happening on the 3/5 man team events?
Has this died a horrible death?
Hasn't died at all!!!
Currently running a Race to 3 XBall Series at Aces High (Palmy).
Round 2 this Sunday, 6th Dec.
PS. never heard of any plans for a 3man event in Welly (or surrounding vicinity)
I thought PAC in Petone was having a 3-man league once a month: http://www.paintballwellington.co.nz/news/item/10/
I haven't been there yet myself, but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has. (i.e. Have they been getting good numbers?)
Petone doesn't exist anymore, now in Porirua. But im sure they are still running stuff.
