After the CHCH 3 mans it seems to me that there are various ways of running an event. What i would like to request is if its possible that we can get 1 format for all the events that we want to hold in the South Island. I write this after some confusion over the way things went over the weekend.
Can we stick to one format and leave it at that, at least that way everyone that attends any event knows the format and how things are going to run.
as in.
1. A full round robin is played and the team that has the most points wins the event. (this would mean you need to play your best to win. Theres no second chance)
2. A round robin is played with the top four then advancing to the semi finals. 1st plays 3rd. 2nd plays 4th the winners of each game them move onto play for 1st place and second. The losers then play on to see who gets 3rd and 4th. This seems to be what EVERY major sport uses as a finals system and i can't see why it doesnt work in Pball. All the top 4 teams deserve a chance of winning why not give them the oppertunity<sp>
3. A round robin is played. top four teams then play. 1st plays second winner takes first loser takes second. 3rd plays 4th winner takes 3rd losers is 4th. I'm going to be very biast here. I dont like this option, as if a team makes it into the top four they deserve the chance to win the event not just to either move up 1 placing or lose one. (and if anyone thinks this is just sour grapes because we came 4th your wrong we fucked up and we know it :) ). I think roadkill could have won, and they didnt get the chance to prove it.
I'm not to sure if theres other ways this could be done but these are the best ways i could think off. But at least if we all know what the format is we know we can expect the same format at all events. Well at least in the south anyway :)
Oh yeah sorry for the bad spelling marty wasn't here.
PS.. Remember that green car on the drive up?
