View Full Version : Where we are up to with Easter

ANTSMAN68

For those that dont know Graham has handed over finishing off sorting out Easter to me.

What we have sorted is.

7 teams paid up=Flashpoint/Hybrid/Hybrid/Smash n Grab/Retribution/Damage/Addicted.
3 teams still to pay as far as i know.Saints,Black Ops Nelson, and Conans team

*****Funds have been transferred to me and any teams making payment from now on must call me and not deposit the entry into the originally nominated account*****

Venue, Grenada soccer playing field with access to changing rooms and toilets. Also tar seal road right up to the field.Ample parking.

Airball field, will be using Bookie and Johns field with xtras courtesy Of Rob Blitz.

Air , will be courtesy of Tags compressor.

Reffs, have Mike E/the Cleeton boys and one other coming from Auckland to reff, also 2 so far from Wellers. Have reffs accomodation booked ast Mike Taylors house(Joshs m8)

UPDATE ON PAINT. Rob will be at the venue with paint first thing Sat.Every effort must be made from teams to have enough paint for the two days, as Rob may not be there all of the time. Marbaliser=$76 All Star=$76 Premium=$65
Orders must be placed with Rob (0800tagwar) ASAP, draw is being worked on currently.

What im still working on, Marquee hire.Well this is a big cost, so much so that we may not be able to provide. With that in mind would teams like to bring their own lil marquee/tent?For those teams travelling a long way there is space in the changing/club rooms for possibly 2/3 teams.

After Function
Place to have a beer on Sunday night.Likely a kool lil pub in Tawa, which is 3 mins from the field.

Marquees.
If anyone knows of large-ish marquees in Wellington for hire CHEAP:) please let me know.

Handheld Chronos.
Would be gret to borrow at least 2 of these:) please:) anyone got one?

Food and Drink.
Should be able to get a couple of BBQs there to sell suasees in bread and hopefully hot tea and coffee.Any volunteers to be the cook?

Vendors.
If any importers/retailers want to sell gear/paint at the tournament that will be welcome. Get in touch with me.

Volunteers.
Are critical to this tournament running smoothly, especially on the Friday for setup , and Sunday avo/Monday for cleanup.

Cleanup.
we aim to be done by 3 pm on Sunday so majority of clean up can be completed, paint picked up, netting rolled up, tents folded up etc.

Before anyone asks, im not making anything out of this, rather just want to help people play paintball, like i said before , the success of this tournament largely depends on volunteers to help on the Friday, and Sunday avo/Monday.

As well i am also playing this tournament which means that the reffs take care of the reffing(bless them :) ) the players take care of the the playing, and there is no main "tournament promoter/organiser". I will be there to do as much as i can but at the end of the day it is going to have to be a case of everyone having a relaxed 2 days of paintball.

any questions please contact me on

Sweet.

I can bring my hose again to wash off bunkers, the feild should have running water (I hope). I also have an extra 30 m, I'll bring that too.

I will do some investagating into tents, as long as people don't mind crap being printed all over them.

I'm sure no one will mind if we use our rakes to help with the clean up on Monday.

Jimmy, kool , more marquees/tents the better,
Sy chrono , sweet, beers at cleanup, yep why not.

one other job for a local person maybe ,is we need price from signwriters to get 10/12 real estate for sale sized signs(corflute?) made up with this on them

"DANGER, paintball in progress, NO ENTRY unless wearing mask/goggles"
in red/orange fluoro,

if they end up being expensive maybe we make stencil and spray it on ourselves? :)

or something similar

Draw for the weekend. i wouldnt have a clue how, but will learn if i have to. Any volunteers?

Well I can collect some core flute, and I have the card board for stencils.
So I guess I'm sticking my hand up to do that.

Hopefully I can do it without buying it, but if I have to buy it, it's $25 a sheet, measuring 2400x1800.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Ants - big red/3 hand helds not a problem. Rakes should be okay as well - but will check.

Let's have a chat on Wed @ the indoor and see how we're placed on everything.

looks like we will have enough cover in the form of marquees tents, BUT, with the air field/netting,and tents set up and in place all weekend, we really need an on site presence at night, so is there an attending team out there that would like to stay at the venue in one of the tents Fri Sat Sun night? entry for the team would be waived/refunded.

call me if interested

can we drive along the road parallel to the public road? (there is a line of houses between the two) and where should we park (I assume that big carpark looking area in the top left is the carpark?)

thanks

drive in by the road where the two larger buildings are(which house the loos), and drive along the big curved road, to the star where the tents/marquees will be, yes we will be able to park by the tents, a good idea will be to drop all the gear off and then go park the cars in the tarsealed carpark.

urmama, nope dont have anyone to stay overnight fri/sat for security, are you offering? :) there will be tents galore...

email me if you know of anyone keen

not being incredably ignorant:
what scoring system is being used. the millinnium rules MikeE posted in the other thread have one system that is different from previous years (NPPL style). briefly summerised:
3 points flag hang
2 points flag in transit (or first pull)
1 point draw
0 loss
people out only counts in the case of a tiebreak

why are we stuck with it? we have to change at least 5 other sections of the rules to account for NZ's odd laws and small player base.

heck I was hoping for data for my ranking system from NPPL style scores, but damn I may have to browse the NPPL pages, mumble

you just answered you question.

Amendments were made due to the odd laws (i.e neccessity), not because we felt like it - 3 days out from the event.

It would be unfair for everyone involved to start rewriting everything on the back of a napkin on the way down there.

Also previous years have not been NPPL style. NZ has used Millenium since at least 2001... except for the odd few where rules were made up on the fly.
