View Full Version : Setup $1500
Ok, so thinking of getting back into some social speedball.
Will be playing with a budget of circa $1500 to cover loader/marker/hpa.
Guessing HPA = $350ish for a 68cui 4500 PSI tank
Loader somewhere in the $250 mark
Which leaves me around $900 for a gat... Eclipse Etek seemed to shoot ok today (tho the trigger out of the box felt like shit)...
Whats everyones suggestions? No idea what things are like these days...
What should I be looking at Dye Rotor? Whatever happened to the VLevolution?
Someone get me up to date
Though I haven't been playing I've been keeping up. That looks about right to me. VL's aren't really a "superloader" any more - the current crop are the Rotor, Prophecy and Pinokio. Pinokios are butt ugly and big but they work, Rotors have epic battery life and are the easiest to pull apart but not so good for crappy paint or reballs, and Prophecies are basically a more complicated yet almost toolless version of a B2. The biggest difference between the top loaders when you were around and the current ones is that they've all gone toolless and have auto anti jam (and various other board functions I can't be bothered looking up)
Markers - were I to get in with that budget now I'd get an Etek3. Besides that the G3 and PMR are the decent ones in your range other than second hand stuff.
Drop Jono a line, Dye were doing some deals/packages with Free rotors on guns or something like that.

Etek3, Rotor and 68/4500 HPA and you cant go wrong. Im still using an origional Etek1 its 2 years old and still running sweet. If you dont like the Etek3 trigger CP does a mint sling trigger for Eteks at like $60.
Give me a shout Mike
Have some guns you can test out if you want.

yo Jono, i racoon that if u posted in teh appropriate sections on both forums 2 entry packages youd prolly sell a few,
pmr, +bottle+loader or pmr +loader ,
Agreed - I haven't seen any NZ pb retailers selling entry level tournament packs. One of those 47ci tanks + an etek3 or PMR + a hopper + maybe a mask would make a good starter pack at a good price and help get people into the sport.
