It's been a while and lots has happened!
First up, gear so far: The EgoXI

Now at first I was just like "yeah yeah, another ego, yay for PE" but this one actually has some decent improvements. Firstly the POPS - it's basically a push button ASA which is nice. Also it wont fire the pin out and shoot you in the eye like old PE ASAs have tried to do to me on more than one occasion.
However the most important upgrade is the adjustable solenoid. There are two dials inside the grip frame, one for reverse airflow and one for forward. Basically they control the speed at which the bolt is moved forward and backward without affecting FPS (much). Set it to 1:1 and you'll have a super smooth marker with a low sound signature, no kick, and not much BPS either. You might also need to turn the velocity up to compensate. Set it to 10:10 and it'll spit paint as fast as it can - 20+ bps - while also being kinda loud and kicky. Set it to 5:7 and apparently it's just right for semi only.
Besides that, I like the looks personally.
Next up the Mini2... cough oh I mean "Empire Axe"
Imo it looks rubbish, but that's just me. Apparently it's basically a mini with all the bugs ironed out. Neeto.

Third, the new Bob Long Intimidator G6R.
You heard right, it's actually an Intimidator by name as well as function and form. I like it, it has the old school style with a new school frame and features.

Cool. So here's some news bites for those who can't be bothered trawling the nation and propaintball.com :
* The NPPL will be hosting a PRO ONLY event at the same time as Living Legends, on the same site I believe. It will be a new format and will be aimed at TV coverage. To me this sounds interesting for sure. Running huge events with hundreds of teams is diluting the appeal of the pro level and therefore it's ability to grow the sport. The pros need to be put on more of a pedestal and this will do that. There are other reasons too. This isn't getting much attention as a news item, but then again people don't seem that interested in the future of the sport these days.
* A company called HydroTec (http://www.hydrotecpaintball.com/) are apparently about to release a water based paintball with a corn based shell that, they say, is completely unaffected by heat and cold, and cheaper to make than a regular ball along with a better shelf life. Sounds good especially for us being stuck a very long shipping haul away. Lets wait and see if they're not full of it.
* Smart Parts is dead, but the Gardners are still in ball. Also, DLX will continue to make the Luxe.
Last but not least, this one should strike close to home:
