Been a bit of spam lately

There has been a bit of spam around the boards lately - seems like some of the traditional anti-spam measures have been compromised (hardly a surprise). :banghead:

I've made some changes here, including changing a filtering service we use to check for known spammers (email, username, IP address), along with adding a "human checker" option on the registration system for the boards.

The other main change is stopping new registrations from being able send PMs, post new threads or reply to existing threads. From now on (at least until I'm sure that we're getting next to zero spam account registrations) all new registrations will have new posts/threads put into a moderation queue for the Moderation team to check. Once we're sure you're human you'll be put into a "full access" user group.

Sorry for the hassle guys & gals - but we need to stop this shit cold now.

Okay - lots of new (non spam) members, so we've relaxed the "no post/no thread" regime ... especially since most the spammers seem to have gone as well.

If you do see a spam post be sure and click the report button (196) just in case the moderators miss it :)
