View Full Version : [New Player] North Shore / West Auckland Paintball clubs?
Hey guys
New to this, have only gone a few times but am keen as to get into this on a regular basis. Getting a group of mates together sometimes proves impossible so I was thinking a club might be best?
Is there any clubs on the shore or out in west auckland? Google didnt reveal much.
I have no equipment at this stage but im guessing a club could help point me in the right direction with what I need etc?
Cheers
Tyler
Hey man, check out our clubs directory (http://www.paintball.net.nz/links/browselinks.php?c=4) - still working on filling it up but there are a couple of Auckland ones there. Clubs are definitely the way to go if you can find one. Also have a look at the fields and stores in your area - there's a bunch of fields in Auckland and I'm sure one will be able to help you out.
Sometime today there should be a getting started article going up on here, but yes always check out a club first before buying a bunch of gear. Maybe think about getting yourself a good mask first. Anyways I'll link the article when it's time.
Thanks mate appreciate it!!
I've checked out a few playing fields in Auckland and theres some awesome ones out there, especially the new one, but like I said getting enough 20-something males organised is a pain so a club def seems the way to go!
Just had a look at the club directory, only 5 clubs on there??
Whitford and Waiuku are pretty far away from me, probably over an hour.. Bugger.
Is there anything out Kumeu/riverhead/woodhill ways that anyone knows about?

Yeah the directory is still new. But we're slowly getting content.
A lot of guys login after work, so hopefully some useful pointers for you around then :)
Awesome thanks mate. The smartphone app is awesome btw, downloaded it already so I can check this place from home. Super convenient :)
Actually whitford doesn't look too bad, once every 2-4 weeks makes it less of a pain to travel.
The Waiuku guys actually play all over Auckland, it's more of a general club. We'll be playing up at Firebase Red in a few weeks, that's just north of orewa.
You'll probably also want to have a go at some speedball at some point (may as well give everything a shot right) so keep an eye out for any open days or whatever. Some clubs do it and there are a bunch of teams around, though we haven't got them in our directory yet. So far the directory is pretty much done when it comes to stores and fields but lagging a bit on clubs and teams.
Here you go dude, you probably already saw it:

That sounds pretty good!
So, sorry to sound like a noob but do the clubs generally only do speedball or woodsball and not both?
Last few games I had was down near Churton Park in lower hutt, did a mix of speedball, bush and bunker stuff. It was awesome, enough to get you hooked!! Definately had a preference for the bunker and bush type stuff however.
Yeah clubs will mix it up a bit depending on the club. Speedball is hard to try out without playing with a proper club or team - it's a very different experience to playing with rentals.
Yeah just did a bit of you tubing on speedball and it does look a bit more hardcore.
Awesome 101 write up btw mate!
Sweet!! Spoke to Peter at Skull Spiders Paintball and going to attend their club day on Sunday and even get to have a go :D
Excited!!!

Urban Combat, Kumeu. www.urbancombatpaintball. I am starting a new club. Waiting for the first few members to contact me. All equipment provided, Tactical games in an urban combat field. If you contact me we can get it started or I can put you in touch with a milsim team if you have your own gear.
