Oh...Okay. So here we have the "I'm voting National cause they're gonna give me $50 more a week to spend on Lotto", while borrowing to do it and cutting services, ignoring our committment to the Kyoto Protocol, and building roads that no one can afford to drive on because of the increasing cost of petrol vote...;)

Never said anything about National ... I don't tend to discuss my voting preferences.

I will say - however - that the fourth to last party I'd vote for (with NZ First, Maori & Destiny NZ being worse) is the Greens ... not keen on one policy parties. ;)

Chicken...;) Historically, neither do I. But that seems to be changing.

Dude. If you think the Greens are a "one policy party", then you haven't been reading the Green's policies...:) Hmmm...[b] doesn't seem to be the correct BBCode...Oh well...

Oh I've read them ... but let's be honest here - they are in effect, a one policy party. Hell, even ACT has more policies than them.

(And you do realise that this is why MSN was invented ... to allow people to have conversations online in real time :?: )

RePete

Yeah. But this is collaborative. ;) Others can participate later in the day. I have to sign on to a server with an external Internet interface to run web MSN since it's blocked by our proxy (Which yes, I administer), which is a pain.

And the Libertarians are a one policy party "Scrap the government". Cracks me up...

In 30 years time when most of our coastline is under water, our kids are still paying for the three new coal fired power plants to keep up with increasing electricity demands, can't afford to buy a house or go to university, you're on a 5 year waiting list for a prostate operation (Oh. So sorry. Didn't you buy health insurance?), and all of the benefits of your hard work are going to some fat cat overseas...I'll say I told you so...;) Hmmm...Where's my little red book? *shudders*

I knew if I voted, The "Not a chance I would be voting for list" would be:

1 - Destiny NZ (ADCNZ©)
2 - Maori Party
3 - NZ First

I like Brash's idea of abolishing the Maori Party, and the Treaty of Waitangi, but I think Helens doing a good job as it is. I dun really care about Tax, as I dont have a job *YET*. Greens are cool, I am just sick of that song being repeated on C4 (Rainbow Warrior or whatever). Yeah, I'd probably vote Labour.

Just to make sure you're aware Sam, National wants to disolve the Maori electorates, not the "Maori Party", and to remove references to "the principles of the Treaty" from government legislation because "the principles of the Treaty" has no legal definition.

...but I think Helens doing a good job as it is. I dun really care about Tax, as I dont have a job *YET*...

Oh oh. Here comes the gramar police...I presume "dun"="don't". No job yet? Record unemployment. Are you looking?

...Greens are cool, I am just sick of that song being repeated on C4 (Rainbow Warrior or whatever).

There's a good reason to vote for someone. Cause they're cool...:)

Yeah, I'd probably vote Labour.

A vote for Green is as good as a vote for Labour. And you highlight that environmental issues are important to you. And if they're not, then that's fine. It's your choice...

Insurance pete, the dr's inthe public sector aren't happy with their jobs or pays, so theres no need to be thorough on their work. At least with private care they are good doctors.

I'd be very surprised if either government, which ever gets in, does even 50% of their promises. Out the policies that have been released, national are the better for me and my priorities.

Everyone get that Labour card, about helens 7 commitments?

Out of those 7, 1 appeals to me and thats 250 more community police on the streets.

I honestly think that treaty claims should be well over with by now, not giving 3 more years to come up with claims and 15 more years to settle them.

Money for joining kiwisaver? a govt run scheme to make more money, giving customers money for their first home, $5000 isn't going to make a lot of difference to some people, considering the fees and such.

The whole Labour tax scheme gives me nothing, not even if ness and I had kids in the next few years, we'd still get nothing.

National on the other hand, i'd get more money a week (not heaps, but enough).
Plans to reduce Welfare dependancy (a personal pet hate are beneficeries)
A BIG one, improve literacy and numeracy skills! If people had a better grasp of basic writting and number skills, maori or english, there would be less need to be on a Benefit.

Treating all NZ'ers equally before the law! I've had enough of people getting away with different things because of who they are. Politians, police, native, foreign, working, not working, young, old... everyone should have the same punishments.

Enough of the golden handshakes when people stuff up and have to leave, no more high profile people getting away with speeding or drink driving.

In the end everyone has their own oppinions and thats a positive thing. In the end, the majority get their say. Im just glad that there are more things on peoples agendas that are not based on money.

biggest one for me is that National possibly and proably will go back to full on nuclear vessel allowance inside of NZ.Igrew up(as did we all) with no nukes policy, and i dont wanna see that change ever, all the other stuff is minor for me, treaty, blah, lets move on, tax cuts, hell if i earned over 100k, i wouldnt care bout the puny xtra $90 bux per week anyways would i...seems like Dons thinks most kiwis are stoopid, tryin to buy our votes with tiny insulting amounts of money...and now appears hes been caught out blatantly lying...moron

"Damn it"? What...That the truth is revealed? What are you doing using teh Intarweb? It's evil...:P

There was a poll on the radio this morning asking "Has Don Brash's credability been effected by this Exclusive Brethren thingie?". Most people who called said "No". The radio DJ's asked "Why not", clearly believing that is has. The people were caught off guard by the question, and stuttered out various answers (Most of which were attacks on Helen Clark about "signing paintings she didn't paint" and about "travelling at 170 KPH"). However the answer they all should have given was "Because I'm a National voter"...:)

Rosey
09-09-2005, 17:48
That would have been my answer Pete, Why not? "cause hes got too many good things going for him, as a national voter he still has my confidence"
