Im just getting into paintball, and im looking for gear and a club etc though the skullspiders sound good. Ive got a huge amount of things to spend money on eg just bought a $1000 guitar and buying a laptop in a few months. Just wondering do any of you have any ideas of how i could make some cash for gear? I dont get any money from my parents and i am almost 16.

Get a part time job mate, maccas, kfc, pak n save etc - Save your pennies and splash out when you have enough. Heaps of cheap gear comes up on Trademe all the time
Do what you done to get money for that guitar and the laptop you're going to get?

Just thinking of ideas to make money faster - also most of the money im making goes to snowboarding etc
Choose one hobby and do it right, don't have ten hobbies and not be able to afford any of them. Drop snowboarding, or drop paintball. You can't do everything. I quit collecting Warhammer so I could play ball, then I quit ball for a while so I could mess with unicycling. Now I can afford to do both paintball and unicycling so I do, but those are the only two things I really spend money on, and I'm 27 and in charge of a whole lot of people at work! At 15 you're kidding yourself if you think you can do snowboarding and paintball and buy laptops and instruments. I've been a budget advisor at a bank so I know. There is no reliable and legal way to get loads of money fast. Anyone who tells you otherwise is probably trying to scam you.
The single most important key to getting rich is to spend less than you earn, and be wise with what you have.
get a job, hope u have more luck than i do, ive been looking for almost 2 years to fund paintball...still looking haha
Just alil bit of advice...Dont go on about how much $$ you spent of the guitar/laptop and Snowboarding then tell ppl you need some way to make $$ for Paintball..Its sounds a bit like the little rich boy brag brag sorta stuff..

lol dude you will quickly find that the paintball community is made up of a lot of people who know and respect each other.
That kind of BS attitude wont win you any friends. to be honest im surprised your comment is still up cos the mods on here dont put up with crap like that.

Have you played much paintball?
First piece of gear i recommend is a mask. One that fits well and is comfy to wear. masks are like underwear, the fit is personal and no one will really want you to borrow theirs.
Regarding markers there is options for them starting at $200 going up beyond $2000. find a local club and get involved. ask to shoot someones marker and see how it feels. Most players will let you have a shot of there marker with very little issue.

Yeah iv played just rental paintball a bit, but the main problem i found is my mask fogging up, is there anyway to combat this? Also what kind of cheap(ish) paint is there that doesnt break in your marker? Thanks

a dual layer thermal lens is the best way to combat fogging. most masks have a dual lens option. if not then a good thermal lens set of gogs will only set you back $140 or so. paint wise depends on the gear your shooting it with. If your using a rental marker then dont waste $$ on high end paint as its like putting alloys on a Lada. they may look cool but wont help with the performance.

I had a flex8 for ages and my wife still uses one. Good masks. good fit and last forever.
I am now using a set of Dye I4s.
What sort of paintball you going to be playing bush/rec ball or speedball?

Damn it - go into town for a coffee & miss the good chance to add some infractions. Now i feel ripped off :)
Hmm ... maybe I need some more mods on here :respect:

Mostly rec ball i think. Maybe speedball later on in life if i find a club nearby

I will recommend a Speedball style marker. like a Planet Eclipse Etek3. they work fine for rec style play but also let you walk onto a speedball field without worrying that your marker will be unable to do the job.

Something to keep in mind which won't cost you dollars but instead will cost you calories. Paintball is described by TechPB's Mike Phillips as "40% mental, 40% physical, 20% equipment".
Try not to neglect the 40% physical. After you've spent some time educating yourself by watching videos and watching other players, make sure to practice skills like...
- Shooting offhanded
- Shooting while moving (walking and running)
- Sprinting with gun in hand
- Using your legs to crouch and move while your upper body aims
- Snapshooting
- The different styles of crawling
- And eventually advanced moves like hip slides and superman slides
Even if you never get into competitive paintball, these are good skills to have and apart from the ones where you shoot paint, they don't cost you anything.
Maybe just do woodsball until you get a full time job, cheaper option (if you don't go all milsim) then you'll know if you want to get further into the sport.
