Hey guys

Can a remote line thats been running co2 be switched to a hpa tank without problems? Or is it bad like trying to put hpa in a co2 tank?

Yes, no problems.

All remotes run CO2 and HPA. If anything it's better (for the remote itself) to actually run a remote on HPA, because the slide check o-rings won't be exposed to the coldness of the CO2 and hence will last longer.

You will need to fuck round with the gun though. (Just saying)

^I assume by fuck around you mean adjust velocity (maybe dwell and other settings on an electro)

You have an A5 Reviled ?

You want to run hpa instead of CO2? ... or is it already hpa capable.

HPA bottle has either low pressure reg (takes 3k/4.5k down to 450 psi) or high pressure reg (takes 3k/4.5k down to 850 psi).

CO2 bottles are unregged. You will get a fairly random psi (anywhere from 800 psi to 1200 psi but as high as 1800 psi if it is very full or very hot temp, which should blow the burst disc as a safety feature).

Standard A5s love to run at about 800 psi.

Running 850 regged hi pressure hpa is ok but most users convert A5 internals to hpa capable, ie lighter.

For more info on how to convert an A5 from co2 to hpa and vice versa check out :

Good luck mate

I do have an A5 mate - wasnt aware I needed to upgrade to get it to run on HPA but ill have a read over all that info, cheers for the link.

In regards to the reg I have, im not sure if its high or low pressure? I got it from AE fun park, and I believe it is a ninja reg?? So does anyone have any ideas what that would be?

I've been using Co2 up until now but just got the HPA tank yesterday, remote line is coming in the next couple of days..

Cheers

Give it a go. If the gun shoots then fine, if it doesnt then move on to the solutions as above. Forking out money before knowing you could have a problem or not seems odd to me.:D

Yeah ive used my A5 on Peters HPA tank before with no probs, I didnt imagine I would have any so it seems strange that people are upgrading the internals - but perhaps its on older models as that thread is a few years old.

Also just found out my reg is a high pressure output - so I shouldnt have any problems unless the remote line decides to give me grief.

Also, how long should I wait before I give my gun a lube?? I'd say i've shot about 4000 balls through it so far, maybe a bit more. I must admit im sorta scared to open it up in case sh*t flies everywhere lol - I was never very good with lego

Ill leave that to someone with a A5. I never opened my old spyder, and even though its been sitting for 3 years im sure i could go air it up and it would go. But thats a different marker design so might not apply. Just google A5 maintenance and go from there if your worried

(i was very good with lego)

Servicing of a marker should happin depending on use and conditions the marker is used in. if its a wet days play or the area your in is dusty or sandy then servicing should happin every few events. However if you gear doesnt get used hard or often then once every 6 months or every 10 boxes (20000 rounds) of paint should be fine.
Always service and lube to manufacturers specs. If you are unsure or worried as to how a marker goes back together then let someone fimilar with your type of marker do the job for you.

Regarding upgrading internals, that is more about performance. Less kick, better air efficiancy etc.
I am well versed in the inner workings of A5s so if you need I would be happy to work on your marker. I am Bay of plenty based if that helps.

Cheers Staticman, im up in Auckland but I guess BOP isnt too far away.

Would you be able to show me how its done so I can learn to do it myself? Ive been using my marker pretty much weekly since I took it out of the box and have played a couple of times in wet weather, so its probably about due id say...

Yeah dude no problems. Wet is 1 thing to be wary of with a mech marker. with electros players tend to dry them off quickly for safty sake but mechs tend to be forgotten in that respect. I have seen my share of rusted A5 internals in my time

A5 basic maintenance.

Completely agree with above posters, Hpa should be a straight plug n play for you and your reg is most probably hi-pressure.

A5s are gas hogs :o we run em as rentals down here.

Happy shooting buddy
