Here is the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OodM5UDBlAI) on Youtube - the controversy starts at about 7m:45s

Joy division have been knocked into first place for losers, after a seriously controversial call in the final seconds of the NPPL final in Orange County. After several minutes of discussion, head ref Dan Perez decided that a Joy division player had overshot a Dynasty player "with malicious intent", and that another Joy player played on after acknowledging elimination. Joy supporters point to a supposed hit on Brian Cole before the action, who's dive into the snake started everything off. It's all pretty complicated really and noone actually had much of a clue what was going on at the time.

Personally I would've been stoked to see Joy beat the snot out Dynasty, but that's the way the game goes down.

Yeah I heard about this through somewhere, the comments from most of the people were entirely Joy bashing, the best point against Joy they could come up with was "They are foreign"... Guess thats serious american patriotism at its worst right there...

I for one would have also been pleased to see Joy beat Dynasty and shut their fans up for once. I spose they were hoping to see what happened with Stoned Assassins (???) a couple years back from what I hear, where the final ruling was changed on the account of biased reffing.

Dynasty won, thats the way things worked out. The refs must have seen something to make that call, they wouldn't just call it in Dynasty's favour just because they're American.

There is some evidence from the fact that the refs refused to talk to the Joy players while busy yarning away to the Dynasty guys. A little suspect.

Yeah, even the guy who ran the event (i forget his name) had said something that he didnt think it was right. They went and talked to BC and I think greenspan, but didnt want to hear Anything from the Joy players and shoo'd them away.

I think a lot of pressure to come to a conclusion led the refs to making a rash decision, one that they obviously werent too sure on and would rather cover it up than admit that something was up.
