National Champs Labour Weekend 2007

When: Labour Weekend 20th & 21st October 2007

Location: Actions Paintball, Swanson West Auckland.

Format: 5-a-side, 10 minute games, unlimited paint, two flag format.

Paint: Although FPO, other suppliers will also be involved.

Entry Fee and Paint price will be probably less than $100pp and approx $80/case. Additional costs may be involved for Compressed air supply or those requiring CO2.

Fields: To be advised but not just on an air-ball field. With ten different fields there will be plenty of variety.
The mixed fields will suit those playing rec-ball or new to the sport as well as experienced tournament teams.

The concept is to provide an event where players from around the country can gather and compete in a fun event. Sportsmanship and camaraderie are ingredients to be brought, hot guns, multi-shooting triggers over-tagging & bonus-balling are not.

The 10 fields are a mix of older style rec and newer tourney fields.

Id love to go to this, it was great last year.

Don't understand why Paint is still so expensive, exchange rate has been over 70cents for over a year now.

how about $60 - $80 for a case of paint ?.

As per original post, entries @ $500 per team. HPAir and CO2 included with entry. Compressor is going to be onsite. Paint available @ $80/case.

Played on Sup Air and speedball fields.

Currently about 13 teams are entered.

For those interested theres 9 teams I think:

1) Menace
2) Intense (the cleetons and actions refs)
3 )Fusion (back from gizzy)
4) 7DS (and tauranga ringers)

7) Moneyshot
8) Muppets inc (me, ian, spank, magic etc)
9) one more?

Field plays very fast, big x in the middle (its fun shooting people in the foot under it, did it in 5 games!) reffing is ok. Paint is good, bugger all breaks (at least the organge fill unsure of the other stuff) air is around 3100-4500 psi depending on time of day.

Its best of 3, if you win the first two you are automatticaly handed a max.

Not sure of scores so far, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think menace have dropped any (but came close against 7DS in one game, and a 1 on 1 against magic with our fist game against them, I think their game against intense went for a while too.)

As for us, here are our results so far:

So outof 5 matches totally 15 games we won 10 (3 of these were won automatically due to winning the first 2) and lost 5.

I could be wrong on the pirates game however I'm not sure if we lost all or won one of them. Will have to check in the morning

Fun times, big ups to Darren, our 5th player who had never used an electronic marker before, let alone compete in a tournament for stepping up to the mark and having a good time.

Congrats to Fusion as well, its good to see you guys as well, apologies to maria for the armpit shot, I hope the pods of paint and support in the finals made up for it a little!
