MacDev 05 preferred, but will consider others (excepting elderly crossfires). Email me @ wayne.layton@xtra.co.nz or post. Cheers all.
Might be a little hard considering 45cu aint legal in Nz. There might be one or two floating around... Still wont be Nz legal
Even if you track one down, using it'll be kinda dumb - not being legal and all.
You'll need to get .68... either that or just get a bigger droppy on your gun if it's length you're worried about.
But ugh, drop forwards D:

Well guys, I've had 45's before, 72 stubs, and although my current MacDev 68 is a sparkly new legal tank, I don't like its' geometry and not being playing tourny any more, I couldn't really give a rats ass. So, a 45 it is then. One way or the other.
Da Public
Remember that this is a public board ... so don't be going and writing shit that could get us all in trouble.
Not to be a nazi and all.

Oh fer sure, don't get me wrong, and I'm not out to make trouble, and I'm aware that current regs specify dot10915 and the right number, but we all used a large number of varying tanks for a long time without too many hideous deaths before some rubber desk johnny stuck his oar in, and I'm sure many of us still do. All I'm looking for, is a 45 that someone most assuredly has, and doesn't want anymore, not a reminder of recent decree.
Censure me if you will, but I ask- if two bottles bear the same standard and one is a different capacity fom the other, what is the material difference?
Same as vijil, not being a nazi but to answer your question...
"Whats the difference"... THEY'RE DIFFERENT.
Each individual tank has the possibility that it will fuck up and hurt someone. Probably one in a million or something, but that one in a million is the one OSH is trying to save.
I don't agree with it (in fact I think OSH are CENSORED) but thats how they see it.
Stupid, I know but that's the way it is and it doesn't like like it'll change anytime soon.
Edit: Calling OSH that defeats the whole don't say anything that could get us in trouble thing...
I'm not questioning the fact that 99.999% of bottles in NZ that are not legal are quite safe. It's just that we'd like to maintain the best image possible with the authorities. If they see we're willing to work with them, they may relax. If they see that people are openly flaunting their decrees, they are likely to clamp down. Historically that's the way it goes.
In order for a bottle to become legal by New Zealand (ERMA) standards it must go through destructive testing. This costs $8000 plus you must supply three of the bottles you wish to have tested, but this doesn't actually garentee that the bottle you submitted for testing will be approved, only that they will test it to see if it fits their standards. During the destructive testing they do exactly that, overpressurise the bottles until they explode to find the working pressure and the pressure it takes to destroy the bottles. (I believe the Luxfer P11F will survive upto some rediculous pressure like 11,000 psi).
Paintball players have absolutely no say in which are approved or denied as being legal and what alot of morons tend to that is that they are illegal as in, illegal to use at Tournaments, when in fact they are actually illegal to fill, fullstop, no matter when they are used. Although I know alot of people are still using illegal bottles I would strongly recommend against it as eventually it's going to catch up with the community as a whole and people are going to get slammed down very hard upon.
People need to stop with the attitude of "Oh, i'll just get an illegal one for now and then buy a legal one later." as it just doesn't work like that. Because what happens to these illegal bottles? They end up being sold on and we just get hundreds of illegal bottles in circulation. Everyone needs to stop buying illegal bottles period, no matter where from and for what purpose. Just buy a Legal bottle the first time and eventually they will become cheaper as people purchase more of them.
Best sense I've heard re: tanks in nz

Man I'm cool.
Pirate. Stop being an ass. People like you buying illegal bottles won't help fix the problem in New Zealand, the more illegal bottles idiots like you buy, the more of them are going to end up in circulation. Playing Tournaments has nothing to do with it. What do the words "Illegal in New Zealand" mean to you? This has nothing to do with Tourny organisers. You seriously need to rethink your logic.
By the way, the DOT number has absolutely NOTHING to do with the make of the bottle, it's just the certification number given to a bottle by the US Department of transport. What you need to look for is the parts number (P11F in the case of the certified Luxfer here in New Zealand) Because that's the actual make of the bottle.
Bottom line is - You do not buy a bottle that is not deemed nz legal by the magical gas bottle people. Period. End of story.
