Hi again peoples. I've got a crappy Spyder Victor (06, dif from I and II) and I want to go from CO2 to hpa (800psi output, can get 450). Don't really want the thing blowing up in my face, will it run fine if I just whack the hpa tank on? Someone said spyders seem to like 800psi... Not sure how credible it is though

Edit: Thats right it was B2

HPA comes in high and low (800 and 400psi)
Unless its got a LPR then its not Low pressure (co2 is something like 900psi but it fluctuates alot) So you want a High pressure reg on it. I think spyders need a mod to allow HPA (Just something I heard, I hate the things myself so I have nothing to do with them whenever I can)

It is low pressure (great big hollow metal thing on the front block?) I really don't want to have to mod it, planning to upgrade when I can get the money. It's running great on co2 so if thats roughly 900psi I shouldn't have to do anything to run it at 800 on hpa... right? :(

I'm not sure about it, just something I heard someone say... mighta been older Spyders. The hollow thing (usually called volumizers) at best might lower the Operating pressure a little, but its still a high pressure gun. I would think that the mod just makes the most of HPA, because it runs on co2 normally. Again, I detest spyders so I don't really know what mods it might need.

Yeah I have a choice at the moment between hpa or an ion, and im just kinda starting so i figure the spyders alright for now.

Put Co2 through a medium-end electro and you'jj stuff it up, something to do with the parts being delicate as they're designed to run on HPA that doesn't freeze

Its the solenoid. You get liquid in there, and its dead. Pretty much any gun you see on pbreview in the 'High-end electro' would come under this category. Like on an Ion, if you stuff the solenoid you will pretty much have to replace the entire board. You can run an Ion on CO2, but you would have to have an expansion chamber and anti-siphon it. Even then you are taking a risk, while burning through your HPA budget just to get it to be a little safer.

Yeah thats what put me off buying an Electro while i was in canada as if i bought an electro i wouldn't be able to buy HPA and therefore wreck my gun, or not shoot it
