I have come to realise that the "other" site is moderated by Worzel Gumidge, Aunt Sally , Big Ted and some guy with a banjo.
I hate ppl who hide behind the pc and are quite happy to never put a name but control whats placed on the forum for the public to see ..when in reality its not objectional material its just one particular mod..did I say Mod..or admin dood who as got something stuck up him.
They use a mod who I have no issues with to post up a reply to another guys post...I guess thats what happens when they have half of Playschool as Mods.
Its hypocritical by the so called powers to be on the "other"site when they condone a fraudster (hersay) to sell/buy paintball gear on the site.

Just for everyones information in case they were wondering heres what *reall* went down.

B2 and I were the naughty guys in the other site who actually knew what we were talking about most of the time (as opposed to those who were naughty for the sake of things). I actually provided quite a bit of information on the site, and put up with a lot of blatently false and defamatorry comments on the other site, which the moderaters flat out refused to moderate. There were comments on the moderators forum to watch out for the two of us, and that we were trouble makers, and that on the first opportunity we should be banned.

These comments were either made by Rob Maddox (the then site owner) or by Jimbo (who is still a moderator). It got to the stage where Maddox had had nothing to do with the sport for a few years, and the rec ballers were starting to take over the site, and talk about blatently illegal acts. We began to take them to task for this while working on the bottle issue. At this stage some nasty rumours started getting spread originating out of the south island - that I had dobbed an importer in on illegal bottles - I can state for the record, I have only ever spoken to someone from OSH once in my life, and that was research for a Payroll conference at work. All communication at that stage with OSH was with Toby and Brendon Charles - but it was much easiler for people to lie on the other forum, and for the mods to turn a blind eye to this.

Maddox started getting a bit tetchy, and I think something happened in his personal life (if I remember reading his old blog correctly) and he was a bit down. But he started going nuts on the board, threatening bans etc, especially comments directed towards myself and B2. There was also a certain redneck down at the Ultimate Game (camolova) who had repeatedly been banned and signed up under different logins causing trouble. Mods were getting a bit stir crazy and there was no real governance on the site, it was run by a guy in the UK, a guy who had given up paintball and resented most of the community, and a recballer in the south island. It was falling apart with inaccurate information, and people were purchasing crap that wasn't legal udner the assumption that it was based on this info. B2 then asked that fateful question "Who moderates the moderators" which caused maddox to snap.

Maddox closed the site down and put a temp ban on myself and B2. I've still got the screenshots of the final posts and comments on my PC. Then there was a bit of an emo email battle, where I'm pretty ure I sent him the Lyrics to justin timberlakes cry me a river, and told him that he needed to grow up, move out of his parents basement and get laid once in a while, as he was acting like a teenager. I then put out an email to my contact list telling them what had happened, and suggeting they come here as this forum was better run than the other one, had a better back end, and the old owner had thrown his toys out of the cot. Unfortunately, one of my contacts worked for APG, and decided to put a fucking personal email, in the bloody APG newsletter. Although all information in the email was correct, it was inappropriate in that context.

The next day I sent a very shitty email to APG, apologised publically, and resigned from the NZPPA executive. Maddox blamed marty for this, even though he had nothing to do with it, and I got some very angry correspondance from some of the mods - although most of the rest of the community came up to me and said that they agreed with what I said. From then on I was banned untill the site was sold.

Soon after a group of players purchased the site, mainly being matt, tower, and a few others at the indoor. Tower actually stood up and told everyone at the 5s that the ban was a mistake, I wasn't supposed to be banned, and that it would be revoked immediately. This never happened.

Later I signed up again to sell my gear, and was banned immediately for braching the conditions of the previous ban (which is strange since everyone at the 5's heard that the ban "was a mistake").

On the other site, I think the best thing is, that not only am I banned, but they are scared of having people speak about me, as even my last name is included in the swear filter. If this ban was legitmate then they would allow people to talk about it, but my thoughts are that the mods probably don't even know how to unban me, hence they want to cut down discussion of it.

Also I see a few other people talking about freedom of speech on the other site, but they have their wires crossed. I am a strong believer in freedom of speech as everyone knows. But I also believe in private property rights. Let me make this clear, anyones freedom of speech ends the minute someone elses property begins. The other site (and this, and anything that doesn't belong to you)is someone elses property, and such - the owners are quite within thier rights to make any restrictions on your speech that you like. Just because you can say what you like doesn't mean others have an obligation to publish it. So I fully support the owners in that sense.

That said, I'm also free to criticise the motivation behind it.

All in all I find it pretty funny, and I've got better things to worry about. My involvement in paintball is minimal to say the least now that I've got a mortgage to worry about :-P The thing I find the funniest of all, is that my site is stickied as a resource on the other place, especially for bottle details :-P which makes it look even worse that they need to rely on my info, because they can't do it themselves, but te idea of me being able to comment, or even answer questions is too scary for them!

But I figured some wanted to know the story. Also please don't take this out on Andy, he's only following the site rules, which are contained in a hidden forum on the site - its those further up who are to blame.

Guys I'd suggest letting it drop, its unlikely that they will remove the ban. Its childish, kinda funny and hurts information sharing ... but hey, thats paintball in NZ.. Its ruled by the egos of a few people. Always has been, always will be. Better to ignore the egos, and focus on improving ball, playing well and having fun. Thats what I've learnt on my break from playing. Don't get involved in the BS and just have a good time. Lets not see this turn into the cesspit that is the other place.

He will not be allowed back on this site, sorry Charlie, I know you miss your buddy who you had so much respect for during his playing days. Firefox, I'm not sure if you are attempting to be funny or if you are just mentally deficient*. It is a typo, you need to abide by the rules and decisionS of the NZPPA, that means all of them.

This is followed by mental gymanastics, ignoring direct questions, and comments of me 'making a mockery of the system' so I am worthy of being ignored/insulted at the whim of commitee/mods. There was also a nice juxtaposition of 'get off your arse before you can comment' and 'I am doing nothing'

i am thinking about taking my team, but am stuck with the fact that one of the 3 major shareholders from the indoor ripped me off 600 bux at Easter etc etc... so looks like i may end up goin to the xtreme indoor event in oz around that time or else to Masters instead...

some people are just plain bad news for paintball IMO , and it appears to be a coincidence that they are all based in Auckland.

ok my personal application criteria for taking a thread poster halfway seriously is .

A, they have to be a NZ citizen to comment on the NZ paintball scene.

B, they have to be trustworthy, i.e not been involved in any scams ripping people off from PB Nation, which involved selling me a STOLEN DM5 which i happened to find the prev owner of (on PB Nation)and communicated with.

C. lastly to be taken seriously by me i would like all applicants to have played paintball in NZ for at least oh say 2 years,,,and have played somewheres in NZ other than say , ummm oh i dunno, ummm Auckland.

I still lol at the fact that you are welcome in there, and even praised by the mods due to your disgusting behavior. I take great exception to scammers, especially ones involved in paintball - because I've been defrauded by someone in the US/Canada who was a serial scammer in the past.

I'd suggest you fuck off else where if you want people to ignore your less than honest dealings with other people. Especially the ones where you lied to myself, Ants and a few other when we trusted you and tried to help you out of a bad situation. The fact that you are still welcome anywhere in the NZ scene is beyond me.
