it would be almost worth Buying Now (or from the shop itself) and generally hasseling them about it. e.g.:

The ultimate in hardness and consistency.
ok, comparitive test time. Is it really the hardest, most round shell on the market? I doubt it.

The highest quality fill we sell with the hardest shell.
a simple run test should refute/support this claim

PMI Polar Ice exhibits qualities you would expect to find in tournament grade paintballs
really?
I am sure we could get info on the number of barrell breaks by pro teams, and compare this paint to that

PMI works well in any style of marker
RAM included? heck anyone got a Lvl 7 "Mag?

Virgin gelatine shell
so is that gelatine made from virgin cows (heck is AI even sex?), real live (dead) virgins or simply not be used before

True + .005 .68caliber Paintballs
almost worth breaking out the decent calipers for this one

Breaks on impact
easy to test

Ideal weight to ball ratio
I would assume that ratio is X:1, ie the wieght is PER BALL.

If you like a premium ball with an even harder shell, buy Polar Ice. Just be warned, your targets will get hurt with these hard puppies.
so they are going to be tested on this are they, I wonder if they will support/help it?
Also I seem to be firing infant dogs now? first it was harvesting the bodies of virgins for protein now shooting out puppies.
These people are Sick

that paint is designed for uber cold conditions, waste of time in NZ.

depending on if you believe the trademe post or the guncity webpage it is for -1 to 15C or -1 to 7.2C (respectively). At midday Wellington was about 13C and Dunedin was about 8C, so it is hardly unter-cold conditions.

i have talked to the indoor guys about possibility of being allowed to use ur own paint, nothings sorted yet but i didnt get a No, would mean paint is still dearer but at least individuals can control the quality.

other option is to buy in bulk and not play at the indoor.assuming next weekend goes off well, theres no reason why we can use the Grenada field for every 5s and team practices.

as for price of paint, historically paint has always been dearer than it is now, except for last few years in Wellington when blitz and stiles would sell paint for 50 to 70 per box, and some of it was pretty good too, but thats gone by the wyaside now, which i guess makes one think "didnt we have it good then".

the first 2 to 3 years i played, the paint was anything from 85 to 140 per box, and generally the quality was better than these days, but like others have said, when the suppliers started bringing in cheaper paint the quality went out the window too.Personally if the paint quality was really good 90 % of the time i wouldnt mind paying 100 per box. least u can hit what your aiming at.

i have had great paint off of Kyn in Auckland this year (Easter and stuff i have now), and i have heard his paint is same batch/shipment as Tony, why not buy off them?they both give good discounts if buy 20 or more cases.

Ants

i put 2 loaders of elixer thru Liams invert Mini yest, it shot straight as...
as for the nexa stuff the other week at indoor i think 1 in 15 balls went where i was aiming , stupid paint...

i work at kyns place(actions) and the elixer doesnt really have a good rep aye. the 'toxic' paint seems to be the best.

Thanks Ants, that explains why i think the paint is expensive, as I have paid $60 for a caes of Preimum from rob.

As for your paint not shooting strait, thats probably your eyes you old coot.

Thanks Steven for the in depth study of paint quility too.

As for my trade me bid, I now think Tim from gun city has been more than just Patient with my persistant digging to get cheap paint.
Perhaps I'll buy a case to show I'm not a complete bastard.

The main problem with paint is that we use a lot of it... and what with xball suddenly becoming popular we'll be shooting even more.

Maybe we should play civil war xball...

I remember telling Marty a year or so ago that I wouldn't be able to afford paintball if it weren't for the reball centre. Now that there isn't one, I've proven myself right. I can afford to play the (odd) tourney but I'm not going to get any good because I can't afford to train properly except by running round my house dry firing.

You'll see why us players from the last 10 years don't really complain about the price of paint, we complain about the quality. Bring back marbliser and all star I say!

Marbz were cool and what the pros use, that was why we where over the moon when we won our case of it for best sportsmanship way back. I've been badgering Tony for a shipment of it but I'll need to order 100 cases of it. Something to think about if anyone is serious about getting in some uber quality paint. I'm game to put some money towards it.

The Elixer from Kyn's this year has been... Well I can't say, it's not a good look to bad mouth the sponsors paint. I'll blame it's performance on the type of guns shooting it. Mostly stacked tube semi blow backs running on Co2 with big bore barrels and high input pressure. Simply gonna say that for a years worth of reffing I've seen enough orange soup to fill all of the soup kitchens in New York come Christmas day. It's just not suitable for rec and even OGD use. Sy you have the type of gat it was made for.

I will say the Toxic and recently his ACE Blue has been fricken terrific! Say what you like guys but you will notice the difference when you shoot a Cocker. Accuracy is all you got when you play with 6bps.

"I remember paying $120 a box at tournaments back in 2000"
I remember in 2000 a bottle of Napa Valley cabernet cost me $300 in Auckland, thats when the exchange rate was 39 cents, now that the New Zealand dollar isn't the peso of the pacific that same bottle of wine only cost $150, so really that case of marbalizer should sell for $60 given the current exchange rate? And Jim, Rob didn't sell that RPS premium at a loss he still made a healthy profit at least thats what I heard ;)

Thanks Mike :D , but not what I was after :(. I was after the barrel tip thread of the CCU kits. I did some digging and got in touch with Nikcy T over at Eclipse. It's a shaft 2 thread only used on Ego barrels... oh joy... that pile of cocker barrels is getting bigger. Hey does anyone have a Zick kit on there Ego? Does anyone here have a SL74?

We got 2 guys with Dark SL74's and 4 guys with 07 redz ego's.....

the thread on 2 piece kits is always a mystery. lol...

I was asking marty about zik kits too, he just got one, he said it seemed quieter, but he hadn't had a chance to play with it when i talked to him, maybe he was out this weekend....

what do you want to know about the SL's... i'm no Ego Master Tech or anything... i'm an uber noob, but depends what you want to know :)

Tower and Andy Lunt have sl74's ... thy paly for menace will be at the december 5's I'm persuming

08-12-2007, 11:22
Yes we do, and we were. SL74's are freaking great markers but to be honest they are rediculously overpriced. Also unless you want to get ejected from every tournament you attend where they enforce bouncing/ramping marker rules you are going to have to make some changes to the factory settings as these things can take off faster than a jet fighter.

Get an 08 Ego, I think they are pretty much the same as the SL74 but a lot cheaper.
