I'm runnign for one of the community boards in auckland under a slightly infamous ticket.

Though I grew up in Franklin, I now call central Auckland my home. As a young and recent first home buyer, I want to ensure that my generation isn't priced out of affordable housing due to excessive rates increases and bloated, underachieving layers of bureaucracy.

I want to see high value for money, accountable, sustainable and outcomes focused local government.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and am employed to produce executive level events focusing on finance, law, marketing, IT and regulation for the public and private sector.

I support

* Local government reform; one Council, one Mayor, One Auckland
* Our Council working together
* Referendum on big rates rises
* Improved efficiency for all modes of transport
* A better environment. A heritage protection Trust
* Water charges for water infrastructure only

Well I didn't make it, but I did get just under 3000 votes in my area which works out to be 25-30% of votes cast in my area, which is pretty good for a unknown on a new ticket running for the first time with minimal money spent on marketing and no billboards.

We managed to get a few others on in other areas as well.

Was an interesting learning experiance, and would od it again.
